New York, April 18, 2015 - Warm temps, sunny skies, a competitive field and lively crowd were the conditions for the athletes on day two of the New York Relays at Iachn Stadium on Randall’s Island. Amanda Crawford of Paul Robeson claimed the girls 200m title crossing the line in a quick 24.23. Armory was once again trackside to chat with Amanda on everything from her favorite race to her favorite artist (spoiler alert: it’s Trey Songz).

What does it mean for you today to come out here and get the win at the NY Relays?

It means a lot to me. When I was a freshman I came in seventh. To come out here and get the win, it shows that I’ve improved.

Did you do anything special to prep for the race?

Not really, I just relaxed, and I drank a lot of water. (It’s almost 80 degrees today!)

What is something that you are looking forward to this outdoor season?

I am running with my 4x4 team at the Penn Relays. I’m looking to PR! My main event is the 400m. I’m looking forward to the state champs, and looking to take the 400m title again this year.

What is something that you want people to know about you?

This is my third year running track. Ever!

Any hobbies or interest? Music?

Running. Running is everything I focus on. I was supposed to go to a Trey Songz concert, but I had a track meet.
